- Large Carousel with a free ticket for a ride for all children.

The Somerton Christmas lights switch-on* is a cherished annual event, organised by Somerton Town Council, that marks the beginning of the festive season. The event transforms Somerton’s town centre into a magical winter wonderland. As twilight descends, the community gathers to witness the ceremonial switching on of thousands of twinkling lights that adorn the streets, trees, and buildings. The light switch-on brings together residents and visitors, fostering a warm, communal atmosphere that highlights the town’s spirit.
This year the main street through the town, (West Street), will be closed to traffic from Market Place to the exit of Cox’s Yard car park, creating a safe space to browse the outdoor stalls and pop in to our independent shops.
